This is NOT true. It depends on the backlog.
Backlog has nothing to do with approval after the citizenship test
Backlog can delay the citizenship test and the ceremony after approval
Cheers

Hey guys, hope you all well! My apologies if some are clarified already, but I did search and go through some of the previous chats. Nevertheless, wanted to clarify once for all...

My situation : I received my PR in Nov 2022. Ever since I received the PR, I never travelled overseas. I intend to travel in another couple of months for a short 3 weeks trip. For now, I am intending to apply for the citizenship as myself and my family are meeting the criteria.

My questions :

1) Overseas PCC - Given that we haven't travelled to overseas and traveling just for 3 weeks this year, should we keep the old PCC... (My personal take: I feel just to avoid any confusions, better apply the fresh one, yet will take your inputs if it's unnecessary)

2) AFP Check - Do we need to apply for Australia AFP check as well? Looks like not required because in Immi site it says they'll apply on our behalf?

3) Birth Certificate - Both myself and my wife doesn't have one, I have my 10th certificate that has DOB...my wife's is still in a trouble as we are searching for the original as she kept at her home in India. Nevertheless, can we both apply for Birth Certificate based on port via VFS? Does it work or did it work for anyone?

1. NO PCC required
2. DHA will get it directly
3. It’s a waste of money as the PCC says it’s based on the port

I got my PR in 2023, and then travel back overseas from August to mid October 2023 and then again from mid March 2024 to mid June 2024 and I submitted my citizenship application and then went overseas again from Nov -2024 to Mid may 2025 , after returning I got my test date, so do I need to submit PCC , I did not submitted PCC while applying for citizenship

If it’s required, you will be informed during the pre test interview or by email post the test

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the response to the question:
"Does this child have another responsible parent who has made a separate application for citizenship?" in the Australian citizenship application.

Currently, I am applying for my spouse's and daughter's Australian citizenship via my Immi. I assume the correct answer to this question would be "No", as I am not applying for my own citizenship at this time. Could you please confirm if this is correct?

Additionally, can I submit the citizenship applications for my family through my Immi even though I am not applying for my own citizenship at the moment?

Best Regards

Mohammed
