.This is the president of the Spanish football federation who thinks he has the right to kiss a woman on the lips because he is really happy. That grabbing your crotch in front of the princess to show aggressive celebration is perfectly okay. To lie and say that Hermoso verbally agreed to a kiss on the lips is okay. To call his critics d....h.... and a...h..... is okay. To say he is a victim. The man is the biggest idiot in spain and demonstrates why machista attitudes exists and needs to be addressed. It is very embarrassing for Spain at the moment and should never have gone this far. The fact that it is impossible for him to remain in his post doesn't even appear to have cross his tiny little testicular mind

 

Even if he did in fact ask for 'un piquito', & she replied 'vale' as he claims, she didn't consent to what actually happened.

 

The point is, that someone in a position of power, took advantage of that position to do something to someone that they didn't feel comfortable with, nor consent to.

In fact, it doesn't really matter that he's a male chauvinist - which he clearly is,nor that he did it to a woman. If he had done it to another man, or if he were a woman doing it to a man, it would still be wrong.

I don't know if anyone has seen the live news but this is extraordinary. Apparently the Spanish football federation are threatening legal action against Hermoso on the grounds of lying and defamation. They have also issued a statement saying that the women are under and obligation to play for the national team and cannot refuse. This is getting out of control!!!.

There is no doubt in my mind that if I did what Rubiales did at the office in the United States, I would be marched out the door. It was just plain unacceptable behavior.

The only reason Rubiales was not marched out the door was because of money. Rubiales has done a great job in getting kickbacks and spreading out the money to his cronies within the RFEF. What really needs to happen is the men's national team to step up and refuse to play for the national team until Rubiales is ousted. This will hurt the RFEF in the pocketbook and I bet they get rid of him.

 

Already happening. The Spanish goalkeeper has said he won't play for Spain and I expect more to follow especially as every club is now criticising the Federation. And you are right - this is a form of mafia. All those cronies giving him an ovation are the lieutenants who receive the brown envelopes. I think you should read this as it sounds like you haven't fully grasped what machista now means and how society is reacting to it. ittedly this is getting stupid and embarrassing. What on earth does the mother think will be the consequences of doing this? She has just dug an even bigger hole for Rubiales. This is not the end of the world and the idea that he is Jesus is frankly embarrassing for Spain as it reinforces an idea that it is a backwards thinking country that resolves its issues by appealing to God. He is finished now and nothing is going to change that. Besides he is a very wealthy man and despite his behaviour he will not go to prison in fact he will recieve a huge payout and no doubt a pension before he is even 50.

Rubiales has just released a statement. It basically says he is very sorry for the kiss but that it was in the heat of a celebratory moment etc. He doesn't mention grapping his crotch and thrusting it out whilst standing next to the Queen and Princess. Presumably he regards this as a normal celebratory gesture performed by both sexes with no overtones of aggression- because he is a man who has normalised this action so deeply he is unable to understand it as more educated people do. Anyway, what is extraordinary about his statement is that he goes on to say that there is a wave of popular for him in the streets and across the world from both men and women!! He clearly seems to lack any humility and is driven so hard by his ego that after all this time he still doesn't seem to realize the reality of his acts and how they are perceived by others. So far ( apart from his mum) there has been not one person publicly defending him. Even vox has criticised him. So how he reaches the decision that the public him is ...delusional!

 

So finally Rubiales has resigned (unless it's a Nadine Dorries type resignation).
