How To Get Confirmation Texts and Voice From Banks

I am a US citizen living in Indonesia. I have s at USA banks and mutual funds. To confirm my identity they send texts or voice calls with a code. I have been using Skype which will shut down in May so I need something new. The banks will only send to a USA number, so I need a forwarding service for these texts. I called Vanguard and after a long time on hold they told me that while some services are not acceptable to them they would not tell what they were, nor would they tell me what services are acceptable.

I have an Indonesian telephone number and do not have a USA number. USA Social Security will send the codes only to voice, not text, so I must have voice service.

There must be some such service that is generally acceptable to banks. Can anyone tell me what that is?

Lately mutual funds have begun allowing confirmation texts to foreign phones. I had to go to the local cell phone office to learn how to receive international texts. Once I did everything worked.

Social Security on the other hand only will send a voice message to a USA phone. I think whenever I need to SS I will make an appointment with a relative in the USA and have their phone receive the message which is then relayed to me.

This keeps coming up across a number of groups. While there doesn't seem to be a "definite solution," with my Skype number finally going away just yesterday, I am looking at two companies, and starting to work with one, to port the Skype number, and continue with a similar service. Sonetel looks to cost about as much as Skype, and is currently offering a deal to waive porting charges for former Skype customers. Another company getting good reviews, it seems, and the one I'm currently working with to try and port (they charge for the port, but the rest of their fees are much lower, for the number and call rates) is http://voip.ms/. The only issue I'm having with them, right now, is for whatever reason they insist on having a driver's license for ID. They don't seem to be willing to accept my port or residency card, which is odd. If they can't follow through with the creation, I'll ask Sonetel to port, and see how it goes with them. They're better established, at least, as a business.
