Hi, I'm urgently needing advice. I'm from UK, been dating a Mexican woman who appears to show interest in me. We chat online 2-4hrs almost every night, and I visit Mexico once a year for the past 5 years.
In the past 2 years she's been saying to me she has Aplastic Amenia, because she's unemployed she does not qualify for free healthcare which is only for Mexican citizens who's worked full-time in a job for minimum 1.5 years.
I have been gifting approx 55,000 pesos to her per month for blood transfusions. According to her, surgery is about 900,000 pesos. This illness was after I helped her mother with a liver transplant around 100,000 pesos for the surgery.
Based on her interaction with me I want to believe she's unlucky, I've always believed in her personality. I don't want to go accusing or wrongly breaking up with her only for her to away. If I get this wrong I'll not forgive myself.
I asked if she can try flying to UK, there's a risk but better than me borrowing money to help her. She said she can't fly, mexican government has a system linking GP health file to any attempts at getting a visa to fly out the country.
Recently I was told her cat ed away, needed 100,000 pesos to pay for previous treatments and cremation. This is where I started becoming suspicious, vets don't tend to ask for payment after treatments, cremation alone shouldn't cost so much. My girlfriend loves her cat, I have trouble thinking she'd lie given how obsessed she is about her cat, more likely the vet inflated price seeing she's easy to scam? Her friend apparently borrowed money to help her when I said I don't have it because I'm using everything I have to help her monthly treatments.
This is a serious post, I'm currently working in 4 jobs, sleeping 4 nights in a week, also already borrowing a lot to help her.
I need advice on the healthcare system in Mexico, is there none available to citizens born in Mexico, who are unemployed or working part-time? Any advice on options to someone seriously ill. If anyone can ask hospitals how much it costs for chemotherapy combined with stem cell and bone marrow transplant I'd appreciate it, she's already had 1 bone marrow transplant, surgery failed.
I don't want to think I'm being lied (not to someone who spent 5 years talking to me, willing to invite me into her family home where her mother seems to accept me) to but I know my body is slowly failing, getting arthritis pain from overworking, I need help. I'm at my breaking point both physically and mentally, even if her illness is genuine I'm not confident I can sustain this.
Thank you.
