Dear Friends,

I need to prepare for my interview which may happen within a month if all goes as planned.

1. Need details info what are the questions asked and how to prepare. I know this has been discussed previously in this forum. Pls point to right thread(s).

2. Friends who recently cleared interview pls share your do's and don't? Any preparation material which you can PM me that would really be great. May be email/chat id to reach you pls PM.

3. Has anyone been interviewed by NZ CO from London. If so what was the experience and how did you prepare.

4. Applying for jobs - which sites to enroll and start applying for jobs. In highly likely hood they won't select for next level unless I show authorization to work in NZ, so how to deal with this catch22 situation.

Awaiting for quick reply ...this is bit urgent.

regards,
Saby.

Hiya, I can;t say for 1-3 as I was never interviewed, but as for job sites, check out Indeed and Seek as they are big here. Also sign up to the workhere.co.nz and New Zealand Now sites as they give good info. Companies seeking candidates from these sites are often aware of the immigration process and may also be able to help with processing.

I just re-read your post and I realise you meant interviews for work, not for the visa ;-)

I did my interview via Skype with a company that knew and understood the difficulties with hiring international workers. The questions would be the same as you would expect in a local job market interview, but be prepared for the "Why do you want to come to NZ" type questions, and answer honestly. Kiwis are very straight forward and aren't big on BS.

Key thing is finding a company willing to look at you prior to having a visa (I only qualified if I found a job, exactly that Catch-22). The sites I mentioned often have just those types of company. If you qualify without a job, then you've far more options.

With Skype it's important that no matter the time difference you dress as you would for any interview, even in your own home. Make sure the wall behind you is plain and unadorned, and the the camera is level with you and not wonky. Make sure you're comfortable as you could be sitting there for an hour or more, and fidgeting on camera is really annoying as it blurs or stutters.

HTH
