Hi guys,

I've done a bit of background and also engaged a lawyer to handle my ACS skills assessment. I submitted an EOI and ROI in Jul-24 for the NT.

I have a positive skills assessment for 261313 and ACS has recognized "date deemed skilled" as work post 04-Dec-2015. Now the question is when I got received my positive skills assessment, they took it to Dec-23. However in my NT EOI, I submitted it on 23-Jul-24. In that time, I had resigned from my left my job on 17-May-24.

Now my question is, when I submitted the EOI I am claiming 15 points. Is this wrong/incorrect? Will the post skills assessment date of my last employer be included by DHA/NT? Because the ACS skills assessment stopped at Dec-23 because that is when I submitted all documentation for my ACS skills assessment.

A bit worried here guys and don't know if this will jeopardize anything for me or DHA/NT will refuse my ROI. They have requested for further documentation regarding my tourist visa, points breakdown from SkillSelect and Points summary and my update PTE academic scores (which is Superior).

If you have engaged a Mara agent or lawyer, you have nothing to worry about
He will make sure that your application is in order in all respects
Cheers

Hi bro,

Thanks for your response.

I've another question - in my 491 EOI/ROI for NT I have claimed 100 points against 261313. They've requested for furhter documentation regarding my tourist visa. I've held 1 tourist visa in the past and recently got a new one for tourism purposes. NT wanted a reason why I've never visited NT and I advised them it wasn't out of intent but becaues Australia was more or less a transit point and I reconnect with friends who are in Far North Queensland, QLD and NSW as well as Melbourne. I have a genuine intent to live in NT & have done quite a lot of research regarding the job market. I've shared all of my friends details in the document and attached photos as well.

My full points breakdown comes to 100, with Superior English with PTE Academic and a positive skills assessment. I took another PTE Academic in Jan-25 of this year because mine was set to expire on 25-Jan-25. I emailed NT regarding this and requested if I can my new PTE Academic. The case officer came back to me last week 20-May-25 requesting for these documents and a full breakdown of points from the original EOI. The only discrepancy is the expired PTE Academic (but I have a new one now, which I've ed).

If the case officer is reviewing documents - what do you reckon the chances are for an ITA? Would there be any risk of rejection?

EOI submitted to NT: 23-Jul-24
ROI submitted to NT: 23-Jul-24 (when they opened).
NT Portal request for more documents: 20-May-25.
Submission to NT Portal with documentation and updated PTE: 21-Jul-25.

Thank you for any help bro.

No nothing to worry about here, you can claim points post your skills assessment as long as you have all the ing documents in order.

Hi bro,

Thanks for your response. I resigned in May-24 and ed another company (but same line of work). I included that in my EOI but since my Dec-15 to Dec-23 was allegedly counted as 8 years I didn't do another skills assessment for it.

For the period from Dec-23 to May-24 I have the payslips. I believe that if they request me this information that should suffice?

Hi Guys,

Just to give an update. NTG responded to me yesterday and sent me a declaration form to commit to the NT. I've signed it and ed to their portal. I assume now I will be issued an invite via SkillSelect in which case I'd need to accept and kick off the process?

Hi guys,

Just to provide an update. 2 days ago I officially received my ITA in SkillSelect to apply for the 491.

I have engaged my lawyer for this, and I believe I have until end of Jul-25 to apply for the visa. She's advised me to begin the police checks now.

I know the DHA website states that the visa will be granted in 15 - 22 months but realistically what do you think the timeframe is?

No, that's not what the DHA website states, the 15-22 months timeframe is for the past applicants. No one knows how future applicants will be processed. 2-3 years has been a common trend for offshore applicants.
