Hi,
I have lived in New Zealand from 2019 to 2022, where I came first with a Working Holiday Visa and then stayed with an Essential Skills Visa.
I have been back to and I can't help it: I just feel the need to move back to New Zealand. This is where I felt home, more than anywhere else. But I know that the path to residency is long, hard and depends greatly on the type of work that you do.
My problem is that I don't have specific high-demand skills (yet).
I have worked in the meat factory in for several years, then in a hotel in New Zealand.
I have skills in photography but I am definitely not eligible for the Talent Work visa.
I am looking at starting a training in web development as it is something I have been doing in my free time for years.
I'm wondering if that would help find a job in New Zealand (though I would probably need to get experience in my own country first) and then a way to slowly move to residency?
That or my other idea would be to head back to New Zealand as a tourist, try to find a company ready to help me get a work visa, mostly in the tourism industry in the South Island. But I doubt any kind of job in that field can one day lead to being able to apply for residency?
Any advice on a possible path to long term stay in New Zealand is welcome as I don't want to marry a Kiwi just to get residency!
